Looking for an adorable, quick-to-make crochet project that’s both budget-friendly and profitable? These crochet hearts are perfect for keychains and make a great addition to your handmade business or as thoughtful gifts!
For this project, I used Just Chenille Yarn from Premier Yarns. Believe it or not, I picked up a skein from Dollar Tree for just $1.25, and each skein makes up to 9 hearts! That means the material cost for each heart is only about $0.13—amazing, right?
When we add the keychain hardware, the total material cost comes to:
- $1.27 per heart (with swivel clasps)
- $0.88 per heart (with standard keychain clasps)
We sell these cute keychain hearts for $5 each in our shop, which is a price that works well for our business. Of course, you can adjust your pricing to fit your market and business model.

- Quick and Easy: These hearts are small and fast to make, perfect for craft fairs or last-minute orders.
- Low Material Costs: With budget-friendly yarn and hardware, your profit margin can be impressive.

Fasten off (FO) and close. Insert the tail into the work through the top and come back out near the center of your work where it is still open. Pull tight and tie off to the center stitch. Pulling the yarn down will close the hole tight and create a dimple in the heart. Very lightly stuff the heart and shape.

Fasten off (FO) and close. Leave a long tail for sewing. Insert the tail into the work through the top and come back out in the center of the two heart bumps. There should be a small hole in the heart split. Use this hole to lightly stuff and shape the heart. Use the yarn tail to sew the hole closed.
